My Walk Through the Book of Mark by Annette Godtland

Foreword

As I am getting older, I am feeling a stronger need to read the Bible and better understand God's wishes for me. A few years ago, I found a wonderful pamphlet that broke down the Bible into daily readings in a way that the entire Bible could be read in a year. I did that for the year, and felt wonderful that I have for the first time in my life, finally read the entire Bible. This was a good experience for me. Though I have to admit there were many days that I just read quickly to get my reading in without really absorbing what I read.

But now I wanted to take my time and really study the Word. This writing is an attempt to do just that. I am not a Theologian or a Biblical Scholar. What I have written are my reactions and thoughts I had while reading the scripture. These may be very different than what more learned people would have written about the text. But I believe reading the Bible is a very personal experience. Different people will get different messages when reading the same text of the Bible. Even the messages I get while reading the Bible today may be different than what I would get reading the same text again another day. It all depends on what we really need to hear from the Lord at the time.

This work started as a great way to start each day with exploring the Word of God. For me it has added a wonderful new dimension to each day. It does me good to set aside time at the start of each day to hear what God has to say to me.

I believe the thoughts I am expressing in this writing are the messages God is intending for me today. May God continue talking to me through his Word. May I have the understanding to hear His Word. And may I have the strength of character to apply that information to my every day life.

All scripture in this writing was copied from the New King James version of the Bible, found on the web site:

I frequently mention footnotes in my Bible. The Bible I am referring to is the Spirit Filled Life Bible, New King James Version.
